1. How to Get Started?
Installation takes 10-15 minutes.
We will help you to install the software and select your critical files for backup via the phone and Remote Login. The installation is straightforward and user friendly.

An email will be sent to your email address containing your registration details. We will then contact you by phone within 24 hours (usually much less) or the next business day to start the setup process with you, help to select your data files and answer any other questions you may have.
Then?
We will contact you at any time should your scheduled backup be of some concern to us eg: a failure in your regular backup. As all backups are constantly monitored and logged every day.

On average, to install and select your critical files etc will take around 10-15 minutes.
After that there is no more for you to do. We do the work.

2. Is it Safe and Secure?
Sending your important data across the Internet to be stored on a remote PC may sound like a recipe for having your information compromised. However, Our Backup takes care of security all way.

• There is no need to open any extra ports on your corporate or personal firewall, as all communication between the source and storage PC makes use of the standard web protocol (HTTP).
• An encrypted connection is established between the source PC and storage PC, using established Internet protocols (256-bit SSL).
• Files held on the storage PC are encrypted with your own password protection using a 1024-bit public key. (Note that the password is not retrievable, so when password is set it is your responsibility to remember the password you used and it will be required to restore files to your computer at any time this may be required.)

3. Restoring Your Data?
There are two ways you can do it:

• Restore over the internet. We can step you through it over the phone and or via remote login to your computer or you can do it yourself. Usually no outside technician is needed.
  This process can take anywhere from just a minutes to possibly a couple of hours depending on the data stored.
  Either way the internet is relatively fast and usually the most convenient.
• Overnight courier by secure encrypted data CD or DVD's. We will courier your data to you by the next working day. During business hours Beyond the Borders Support staff are always on hand to help you. (Note. Overnight couriers are not always overnight. Dependant on your location.)

4. How Much Does it Cost?
Costs are based on the amount of expected (compressed) data kept on our servers and the frequency of the backup required.

4. How Does it Work?

• You can store up to 5 versions, per PC at any one time.
  
• Each time a Backup Set is stored on the Storage server a new version is created.
  
• The very first backup compresses your files and encrypts them before sending them to our backup server over the internet.
• When you come to restore files, the Backup lets you select which version is to be restored.
  
• The Backup works with Backup Sets rather than with individual files, each time a backup is performed only those files that have been modified or added with respect to the last stored version are actually sent to the Storage Server. It is the Backup program's job to keep track of the necessary administration to return all the files that constitute the version you want to restore.
• At your chosen scheduled time your backup commences.
• When the backup has completed the backup program turns itself off.
• We will email a brief report on the status and success of that backup to you.
• Backup server logs are kept and provide substantial useful information on the backup results.
• Staff review each and every backup connection your computer makes. If we are concerned about your backup you are notified promptly.

6. What do I (you) do?
